Job Post: ER Officer

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To focus on creating and delivering people practices which develop - and maintain - positive working relationships between the organization and its employees.

  • To Work closely with unions and employee representatives, and to ensure that people practices are fair and transparent.

  • To provide effective general consultation and service to employees and, where necessary, employees families.

  • Onboarding support for new recruits. ...

  • Providing ongoing support for employees. ...

  • Analyzing performance. ...

  • Dealing with employee misconduct. ...

  • Resolving ongoing conflicts. ...

  • Exploring new ways to further-improve employee well-being.

  • Ensure adherence to legislation, company policy and procedures.

  • Facilitate the attraction and selection of suitable candidates for employment for all jobs in the D - level structure.

  • Administer, update and maintain employee data and information.

  • Facilitate employee wellness through effective utilization of EAP and clinic facilities.

  • Administer other related matters i.e., HR monthly; RAR report; Labour verification; etc.

  • Implement staffing practices and procedures.

  • Co-ordinate and conduct interviews.

  • Coach; advice and support employees and Line management.

  • Facilitate departmental/organizational change management.

  • Advise / apply recruitment and termination procedures.

  • Conduct in/out area of responsibilities reports i.e., AWOPs; Sick leave; etc

  • Co-ordinate disability; death and retirement claims.

  • Co-ordinate grievance and disciplinary hearings.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • B. degree or Diploma in Human Resources or Social Sciences

  • 6-10 years Generalist HR experience

  • Valid SA driver’s license

  • VIP HR System will be an advantage
