QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Grade 12 certificate
Blasting Certificate Fiery Mines
Flameproof and Gas Testing Certificate
Driver’s license
Competent “A” Certificate
Computer Knowledge
Valid first aid certificate
At least 5 years mining experience with exposure to stonework, dykes, faults, low seam, conventional drill and blast, development and stooping, continuous miner development and stooping Code EB driver license
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
To do daily inspections of the working areas to ensure compliance with procedures and the Health and Safety Act.
Communicate with relevant personnel on mining progress and direction in order to plan areas which need exploration with the diamond drill rig.
To ensure that diamond drill planning and operations run smoothly so that employees produce the required number of meters per shift to meet targets.
To manage the diamond drill machine in all shafts and all administration required for the machines to drill.
Giving regular feedback to Geologists on progress and problems encountered during the process.
To analyse work to be done and work in progress, risk assessment, data and statistics, job profiles, Managerial instructions and Procedures including equipment and machinery.
To plan coordinate and control a sequence of events to complement each other in achieving the set goals.
Organise and allocate resources for accomplishing a task in a given time frame.
To motivate people to take ownership of their respective tasks in order to achieve the organization’s objectives.
Training employees to accomplish tasks according to the required standards.
Counselling and disciplining employees deviating from company policies
