Job Post: Surface Fitter
Zululand Anthracite Colliery would like to recruit a Surface Fitter to be based at the Surface Workshop.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Required to be appointed:
Grade 12 or N3 (Maths)
Recognized Trade Test as a Fitter / Diesel fitter
2- 3 years Coal Beneficiation Plant maintenance experience
2- 3 years underground maintenance experience
Driver’s License (Code 8/EB)
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
To do scheduled preventative maintenance on all plant machinery and equipment to eliminate unscheduled stoppages. (Elbram diesel loco’s, Crushers, Buffalo mineral, Conveyor Belts, Screens, etc)
To conduct repairs on the above equipment and machinery.
To rebuild machinery and equipment for reuse in production.
To do stand-by duties (Plant & Siding)
To ensure compliance with applicable Environmental Legislation
To assist in the continuous improvement of maintenance strategies and practices.
To reduce operating costs by means of ensuring that efficient and effective maintenance is conducted.
To train and coach fellow employees and subordinates
To maintain waterworks plant.
