Job Post: Mining Manager (Fixed Term Contract for 2 Months)
GRADE: D LEVEL
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
B Tech / Diploma / Degree in Mining Engineering or Related Field (NQF 5)
Specialization (A Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competence for Fiery Coal Mines)
Minimum of 5 years Operational Experience in the Opencast or Underground Coal Mining Environment
5 years’ experience at Section Manager / Mine Overseer level, preferably within an underground mining environment
Registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) would be advantageous
Minimum of 3 years Mine Planning / Design Experience
Knowledge of X-pdac Planning System, and Supervisory Experience
Underground mining experience essential Other Skills/Competencies
Broad technical knowledge of underground mining operations and processes
Knowledge of relevant legislation
Mine planning and analysis
Financial and project management
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Determine, implement and monitor production strategies; activities; plans; reports and schedules
Identify potential business risks and ensure processes are established to manage appropriately
Procure external assistance and expert advice to provide assurance for design specifications according to best practice in line with Group strategy
Ensure integrity of underground expansion projects
Direct the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure adherence to mining standards, organizational standards and legislative requirements
Manage and ensure proper people development in the department
