QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Grade 12 certificate
Fiery mine blasting certificate
Gas testing certificate
Code 08 Drivers license
Valid first aid certificate
At least 5 years mining experience with exposure to stonework, dykes, faults, low seam, conventional drill and blast, development and stooping, continuous miner development and stooping
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
To do daily inspections of the working areas to ensure compliance to procedures and health and safety act
To ensure that mining operations run smoothly so that employees produce the required amount of coal per shift to meet production targets
To analyse work to be done and work in progress, risk assessment, data and statistics, job profiles in the mining section, SPI’s, COP’s Managerial instructions and Procedures including equipment and machinery
To plan coordinate and control a sequence of events to complement each other in achieving the set goals
To organise and allocate resources for accomplishing a task in a given time frame
To motivate people to take ownership of their respective tasks in order to achieve the organisation objectives
Coaching employees to accomplish tasks according to the required standards
Counseling and disciplining employees deviating from company policies
Giving regular feedback to mine overseer on progress and problems encountered during process
