Job Post: Water Analyst

Zululand Anthracite Colliery would like to recruit a Water Analyst to be based at the Surface Workshop.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Required to be appointed:

  • Grade 12 with English, Mathematics & Science

  • Water and Sanitation Certificate or eligible to acquire the certificate

  • Driver’s License (Code 8/EB).

  • Certified Water Purification/Treatment Operator

  • Competent in terms of Occupational Health & Safety

  • Computer Literate – Windows/Microsoft Office

  • 4 years relevant experience.

  • Must have trade test certificate

Advantageous:

  •   Experience in water pumps and waterworks sewage an advantage

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To monitor domestic and sewerage water for compliance with mine and SABS standards

  • To use a checklist to conduct and environmental assessment of sewerage plant, waterworks and the dam

  • To regularly calibrate measurement equipment’s in accordance with the calibration schedule

  • To take daily readings of water consumption and use data to compile a monthly report of the mines water consumption and the local community’s water consumption

  • Must be willing to perform stand by duties when required.

  • Water Purification & Sewerage Treatment

  • Managing of relevant chemicals

  • Operational Supervision – Water Based functions
